As a new college graduate with a business degree and a new baby to boot, Mindi Davis, due to her husband’s naval career, had the choice to be a “stay-at-home-mom”. To utilize her education and develop her business experience Mindi contracted with small newspapers, where she interviewed during the day when the children were at school and wrote articles in the evening when they were asleep. This juggling act presented a multitude of challenges and light-hearted anecdotes that she felt were important to journal during this busy time. Inspired to take this concept online, the Maternal Manager is Mindi’s way to share, inspire, encourage and celebrate both working mothers and those who are privileged to stay at home.

Using a local designer to build her website, Mindi became frustrated with the length of time it took to get the project off the ground. Nor did she have any concept of promoting her website with search engine optimization, marketing and landing pages or how to get more than just her family and friends to visit the site. She began to research online for other options. “There are so many service providers out there but having face-to-face interaction was huge for me,” exclaims Mindi. “I didn’t want to be considered as just another number to a call centre far away. Not only did I enjoy the personality of Skip Dalrymple, from the Gogiro Regional Office, he took the time to show me what to do. I’m not a big computer person so I trust that they’ve done what’s needed. My original website was transferred to the Gogiro platform but I had no idea of how poorly it was put together on the backend until it was pointed out. Now there’s not one person but a corporate team of expertise from which to draw.”
